The Race to the CME Globe is a season-long points competition in which LPGA Members accumulate points in every Official LPGA Tournament.  At the end of the season, the winning player will be named the “Race to the CME Globe Champion.The competition begins with the Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic in Paradise Island, Bahamas, continues through the Blue Bay LPGA in China, and concludes with the CME Group Tour Championship in Naples, Florida.

Following the Blue Bay LPGA, LPGA Members who meet the entry criteria for the CME Group Tour Championship will be seeded based on their position on the Race to the CME Globe Points Standings. Points for each Member will then be reset for the CME Group Tour Championship based on the points reset table.

CME Group Cares Weekends

Fans will also have one more exciting race to follow throughout the 2017 season with “CME Group Cares Weekends” a season-long charity program that will be tied into the Race to the CME Globe. Each Saturday and Sunday at LPGA tournaments, The money raised will go towards a charitable pool and will be split evenly between Wounded Warrior Project and Bright Pink at the end of the 2017 LPGA season. Representatives from Bright Pink and Wounded Warrior Project will be on hand Sunday of the CME Group Tour Championship for a check presentation

After the CME Group Tour Championship

The weekend at the CME Group Tour Championship saw three eagles, all coming on Saturday. That puts the season’s final tally at 287, for a total donation of $299,000. In 2017, Rookies Nelly Korda and Angel Yin both had eight weekend eagles to lead the pack, followed by Sei Young Kim, Stacy Lewis and Amy Yang with six apiece.
